Hulu Cancels 'Difficult People'

Despite getting recent attention for its history of calling out suspected Hollywood predators, "Difficult People," the Hulu original comedy series that focused on adventures of a pair of Manhattan misanthropes, won't be back for a fourth season.

According to Variety, after three seasons and 28 episodes, streaming TV service Hulu is pulling the plug on the series that starred Julie Klausner and Billy Eichner.

News on the cult series' demise was broken on social media by Eichner who wrote:

The series, which was consistently snubbed by the Emmys, gained increased attention in recent weeks following the allegations of sexual abuse by actor Kevin Spacey. Refinery 29 notes that while these reports were only just being made public, Eichner and Klausner had been writing lines that hinted as much since the show began.

"We have three seasons full of Kevin Spacey jokes," Klausner said. "To the point where I was worried we had too many. I think season 2, I made a point of making sure every script had one."
