READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Two weeks after the sudden passing of bisexual rapper Lil Peep, who was found dead from a suspected drug overdose at the age of 21, Arizona authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, Taccording to a report from Rolling Stone.

Sergeant Pete Dugan from the Tucson Police Department confirmed the investigation to Rolling Stone. He stressed Lil Peep's death cannot be ruled an overdose until the toxicology report comes back in six to eight weeks.

"It appeared to have been an overdose from evidence found near his body - most likely from Xanax or a combination of different drugs," he told the publication. "But we're not medical examiners. We have to wait for a toxicology report. Until we get that, we don't know the cause of death."

TMZ reported Wednesday police are investigating text messages from a woman named Mariah Bons, who reportedly visited the rising emo-rapper's tour bus shortly before he died.

"GBC [Lil Peep] high of because of me and my friend lol," one text allegedly reads.

"He passed the fuck out my brother called and I tried to get him to say hi to my brother but he wouldn't wake up," another allegedly reads.

Speaking with Rolling Stone, Dugan said authorities are now "looking into the allegations that somebody was linked to his death." He added, "it will really boil down to what was in his system."

Lil Peep, born Gustav Ahr, died Nov. 15 around 9 p.m. Authorities found evicted that suggested he died from an overdose of Xanax.

Dugan told Rolling Stone police consider it a "suspicious death" as Lil Peep was too young to die from natural causes and the narcotics surrounding his body at the time of his death.

"[It] appeared to be from an overdose based on the evidence found and no signs of trauma or foul play to his body," he added.

After earning a devoted following, Lil Peep released his debut album "Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1" earlier this year.
