One of the Florida police officers featured in a viral photo many dubbed the "Hunky Cops" resigned from the Gainesville Police Department last month amid an investigation looking into allegations that he made anti-Semitic Facebook posts and that he allegedly had sex with a woman while on duty.

Last September, a selfie of three police officers from the Gainesville Police Department made headlines after Facebook users weren't shy about how they felt about the handsome men. The photo was posted to the department's Facebook page as Hurricane Irma bombarded the state.

One of the officers in the photo is Michael Hamill, 28, who was suspended in September, shortly after the photo went viral, following the allegations. Department spokesman Ben Tobias said both allegations would have been sustained based on evidence. It is possible Hamill, who was hired in 2016, would have been terminated as a result. USA Today reports he resigned on Dec. 6, the day he was to be interviewed in an Internal Affairs Investigation.

USA Today writes: "Department spokesman Ben Tobias said both allegations would have been sustained based on evidence. It is possible Hamill, who was hired in 2016, would have been terminated as a result."

During the investigation, officials found two posts Hamill, who was hired in 2016, made to his personal Facebook account before he was employed with the Gainesville Police Department. One from 2011 reported reads, "Stupid people annoy me...put them in an oven and deal with them the hitler way. Haha." He also reportedly wrote in a 2013 post that "reading Jewish jokes" helped him feel better about himself. He then added "What's the difference between boy scouts and Jews?...Boy scouts come back from their camps."

The department said the "offensive nature" of the posts affected Hamill's ability to interact with the community, USA Today reports.

Investigators also found Hamill had sex with a woman while he was on duty, using interviews, GPS readings, and text messages. The woman told officials the on-duty visits stopped after she found out Hamill was married, which happened after the photo went viral.
