Former Gay Porn Actor Jordan Joplin Charged with Murdering Alaskan Surgeon

A former gay porn actor and exotic dancer has been charged with the 2017 murder of a surgeon in Ketchikan, Alaska, according to NBC's Anchorage, Alaska affilate news station KTUU.

Jordan Joplin, 32, was initially facing a first-degree theft charge, having been accused of stealing two tons of Dr. Eric Garcia's belongings, including expensive watches, gold, and a coin collection worth up to $500,000. Joplin pleaded not guilty to the charge.

According to records obtained by KTUU, a Ketchikan grand jury charged Joplin with first and second-degree murder this week in connection to Dr. Garcia's death. The doctor died on March 16, 2017. Joplin has also pleaded not guilty to the latest charges.

Joplin, a Washington state resident, performed for a number of gay porn studios under different pseudonyms, according to the gay porn news site The Sword (extremely NSFW). He did scenes for Sean Cody as Zack as well as Men.com, where he went by the name Logan Cruise, and Randy Blue, where he called himself Rob Stonebridge. He also appeared on Bromo.

Joplin was still in the gay porn industry as of 2016, when he appeared for both Next Door Studios and Falcon, according The Sword (again, extremely NSFW).

KTUU reports it is unclear how Joplin and Dr. Garcia knew each other and police have yet to reveal how he died. Last year, during the news station's coverage of the incident, Deputy Police Chief Josh Dossett said of Dr. Garcia's death: "There was nothing suspicious about the actual body or the scene to indicate at the time that there was any foul play."
