Gus Kenworthy Parodies Craigslist Hookup Ad to Court Rick Martin & Husband: 'Let's Connect'

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

After the Oscars Sunday night, out Olympian Gus Kenworthy took to Instagram and shared photos of himself and his boyfriend Matthew Wilkas at the event and at Vanity Fair's afterparty. But this wasn't your run-of-the-mill post: The athlete captioned the pics by parodying a missed connections Craigslist ad.

The two photos show Kenworthy and Wilkas looking dapper in black suits at the event. But it's the caption that had fans laughing.

"*Craigslist Missed Connections*
Living La Vida Lonely - m4m (LA, California)," Kenworthy wrote. "Us: We were wearing black Ralph Lauren tuxedos, mine had little cowboys on it. You: You were also both wearing tuxedos because... well, because it was the Oscar's and everybody does. You and your husband stood out though."

Kenworthy then makes his intentions known, tagging Ricky Martin and his husband Jwan Yosef.

"The four of us chatted and laughed but then, sadly, got separated in the chaos of the Oscar's," he wrote. "My bf and I searched for you both for the rest of the night but never found you again. In town for a week. Let's connect."

Just Jared notes the athlete responded to a commenter who called Kenworthy and his post "smug."

"I'm not being smug!" he reportedly responded. "I hooked up with a guy from Craigslist once! Was more just trying to be flirty toward Ricky and Jwan! Hah. Congrats to you and your man!"

Though Martin hasn't responded, Kenworthy may be in luck if he's looking to have some fun with the singer. Martin, who stars on "The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story" where he plays the titular designer's partner Antonio D'Amico, recently spoke with Vulture and discussed "normalizing" open relationships.

When talking about playing D'Amico and his relationship with Versace, who apparently had a very open relationship, Martin said:

"I want to normalize relationships like this. It's good for the world; it's good for me as a gay man with kids. It's important that we shed some light on power couples like this, even though he was quiet and behind the scenes and he was just there supporting his man for 15 years."
