Anderson Cooper Confirms Breakup with Longtime Boyfriend, Reportedly Dating Texas Doctor

Anderson Cooper has split with his boyfriend of nine years, Benjamin Maisani.

The news of the breakup was confirmed to The Daily Mail Thursday.

"Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago. We are still family to each other, and love each other very much," Cooper said in a statement to the newspaper. "We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together."

Cooper, 50, and Maisani, 45, were spotted leaving their home in Manhattan together earlier this week and it appears they are still living together for now, according to The Daily Mail.

Nevertheless it looks as though the CNN reporter has moved on. The Daily Mail reports Cooper was spotted in Dallas in mid-December, returned to New York City for his New Year's Eve hosting gig but then returned to Dallas the following weekend. The reason for the back-and-forth trips? Cooper is possibly dating Victor Lopez, a 33-year-old doctor, who posted a photo of the two of them in a car the weekend after New Year's Eve. He captioned the snap, "Weekend vibes."

The Daily Mail notes that Lopez may have been a Cooper fan before the two started hanging out, pointing out that his Instagram handle used to be Victoro360 - a possible nod to the journalist's CNN show "Anderson 360." Lopez has since changed his handle to Victoro001.

The two were also seen together in New Orleans on January 15, where Cooper was doing a "60 Minutes" report and brought Lopez along with him. The newspaper reports the doctor shared a photo of himself and Cooper in a hotel room. Two weeks later, Cooper was spotted in Dallas again, this time having pizza with Lopez.
