After Announcing Social Media Break, 'Drag Race' Star Katya Returns
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
"RuPaul's Drag Race" fan favorite Katay has returned to social media after announcing in January that she was taking a break because "health is the most important thing for me."
Her announcement came during an Instagram live video, where she spoke French and said: "I'm ok. I'm not dying because I want to live. But I need to take vacations, like a normal person. The people who are listening will understand, can understand. And that's all I wanted to say, that's all."
Katya, who has been open about her drug addiction in the past, explained she's still sober.
"I don't have a drug crisis right now, because I'm sober," she said at the time. "I'm taking care of myself today. And that is the reason why I'm happy."
Over on Twitter, Katya shared a message to her fans, where she called herself a "workaholic" and said "all of my tours and shows will be postponed until 2019."
The performer then deleted her Twitter account.
Days after the controversial "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 3" finale, which saw Trixie Mattel win (Katya has her own show with Trixie on Viceland), Katya reactivated her Twitter, writing, "The Bitch is Back." She also included a .gif of Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman.
Unsurprisingly, the tweet went viral, earning over 26,000 retweets and more than 92,000 likes.
