Watch: Drag Queen 'American Idol' Contestant Slays Judges for a Second Time
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
The drag queen who made headlines last month for returning to "American Idol" after appearing on the show back in 2013 is slaying the judges for a second time this week.
Adam Sanders, 24, who performs as Ada Vox got a standing ovation by the show's three judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan when covering Radiohead's iconic hit "Creep."
"I wanted to face you all as myself without the guard. I wanted you all to see who I truly was," Sanders said.
"I'm glad you showed up in your true form because I want to tell your true self that the dynamic duo will be going forward," Richie responded.
When making headlines last month, Sanders said he auditioned for "American Idol" on Season 12 when he was 19. After making it to the top 50, he was nixed from the competition but proved himself last month with his cover of "The House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals.
"It killed me almost as much as the people who were telling me that I should kill myself," Sanders said of being booted from "American Idol." "Through all of the negativity, I have managed to build myself up as a new person, a stronger person. I have recreated myself in ways that I could not have imagined.
"I am so ready to show everybody, to show all of America, to show these judges, who I am now, and I can take anything and everything that comes my way," he added.
