Watch: Netflix Calls Out People Who Think the 'Lost in Space' Robot is Hot
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
There's been a long tradition of the Internet thirsting for non-human characters. Most recently, many had the hots for the fish man in the Oscar-winning Best Picture film "The Shape of Wate,r" and sex toys were even designed after the creature. Earlier this month, Vulture published a piece about the villain in the new "Avengers" movie called "Is Thanos Hot?"
Netflix has apparently noticed those who can't hold back their attraction for the robot in the streaming service's rebooted series "Lost in Space." There a number of notable differences between the 2018 version of the family drama and the series that first debuted in the '60s. Most notably,, the robot (known for its iconic catchphrase "Danger, Will Robinson!") got a major upgrade. It no longer looks like a metallic gum ball machine with stubby little slinky arms. Instead, it's a tall and muscle-y organic space alien, which is apparently doing it for a lot of fans!
Despite the new "Lost in Space" being a family-friendly show, Twitter users didn't hold back their feelings when watching the robot - especially its butt. Netflix is well aware of your thirst, and recently tweeted a video to those robot lovers, writing, "Y'all need Jesus."
In the clip, text reads, "When 'Lost in Space' premiered we were prepared for a big reaction. What we weren't prepared for was this..."
The clip then shows screen shots of Twitter users' risqu robot tweets: "The robot in Netflix's new 'Lost in Space' is hot," one tweet simply states. Another reads, "Good morning. The 'Lost in Space' robot has a nice butt," with the Twitter user adding a photo of said nice butt. "I'm gonna be honest with y'all," another tweet begins, "I'm genuinely debating watching the 'Lost in Space' reboot for the hot robot."
"The thirst is very real...," Netflix adds.
