Professional wrestler Anthony Bowens, who made headlines last year for coming out as bisexual, had a surprise: The hunky athlete is a big old softy.

To celebrate his boyfriend Michael Pavano's 24th birthday, Bowens wrote, composed and recored a love song called "How We Met" - a sharp R&B bop about the root of the couple's relationship.

Speaking with Outsports, Bowens discussed the track and why he decided to make a song for Pavano.

"I'm really bad at gift giving and I wanted to make sure that I did something special for him," he said. "I was wracking my brain as to what it could be and I decided to go the creative route instead something material."

He also explained he worked with producer Nicco DiRenzi on the song.

"I tried to convey how much Michael has impacted my life and how he helped heal any pain and dismiss any fears I had prior to coming out and living my life freely," Bowens told OutSports. "I combined it with the way I felt after the first night we two years ago at a bar called Blackthorn in New Jersey and I how feel now in general."

This isn't the first time the men have talked about meeting. The pair posted a video of themselves discussing their relationship not long after Bowens came out.

Pavano, a personal trainer, reacted to "How We Met" in a YouTube video of his own.

"It was the most beautiful thing," he said. "He literally wrote and sang me a song for my birthday. I mean, who does that? ... It's the best gift and most thoughtful gift anyone has gotten me."
