Guess How Many People Saw Kevin Spacey's New Movie This Weekend

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Believe it or not, Kevin Spacey has a new movie and it quietly hit theaters this weekend. Obviously, it did not do well at the box office, but can you guess how many people actually showed up to a cinema to see the ensemble crime drama "Billionaire Boys Club?"

Spacey has been accused of sexual assault by a number of men in the U.S. and England, resulting in his firing from Netflix's "House of Cards" and being edited out of Ridley Scott's Getty heist film, "All the Money in the World" and replaced by Christopher Plummer. The Associated Press reported earlier this summer that "Billionaire Boys Club" was filmed in 2015 before Spacey was accused last fall. Distribution company Vertical Entertainment said in June it fully supports victims of sexual harassment but that it believes the film's cast and crew deserve "to see their final product reach audiences."

"Billionaire Boys Club," which cost $15 million to make and was written/directed by James Cox, features a cast of young Hollywood hunks, including Ansel Elgort ("Baby Driver"), Taron Egerton ("Kingsmen") and Jeremy Irvine ("War Horse"). Emma Roberts ("American Horror Story: Coven"), Billie Lourde ("American Horror Story: Cult"), and Suki Waterhouse ("The Bad Batch") also appear in the film, which IMDb says is about "a group of wealthy boys in Los Angeles during the early 1980s [who] establish a 'get-rich-quick' scam that turns deadly."

Unsurprisingly, "Billionaire Boys Club" bombed at the box office. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie, which went to video on demand last month, hit eight theaters in select states across the country this weekend. On Friday, it earned just $126 - that's not $126,000; literally $126. On Saturday, the movie picked up another $162 bringing its two day total to $287.

All in all, "Billionaire Boys Club" earned $618 this weekend in the U.S., according to Variety. (It should be noted, Box Office Mojo reports "Billionaire Boys Club" has earned $1,478,436 worldwide. The film's domestic earnings are unavailable.)

By crunching the numbers, the movie made about $53 at each theater this weekend. If the average ticket costs $9.27 that would mean less than six people showed up at each theater to see "Billionaire Boys Club." On top of the disgraced actor starring in the film, the Rotten Tomatoes score for the movie is a rotten 11%. Nevertheless, THR notes that films that go to video on demand before hitting cinemas "aren't generally big draws at the box office, but 'Billionaire Boys Club' is faring particularly poorly."

More importantly, who are these people who actually showed up to see this thing?
