PopUps: Did a Fake Nude Pic of Charlie Puth Cause Noah Cyrus and Boyfriend's Split?

This could possibly be the most bizarre celebrity breakup of 2018.

Noah Cyrus - yes, the little sister of Miley - has been dating rapper Lil Xan since the end of June and the duo gained attention when they appeared on the red carpet at the recent MTV Video and Music Awards. Lil Xan's affection for Cyrus even became a meme.

But it appears as though there's trouble in paradise for the two. BuzzFeed broke down their apparent breakup, which played out over the last few days on Instagram. Over the weekend Lil Xan shared an Instagram story with the text: "I feel like I'm probably being cheated on. Bad things always happen to the good guys..." He later posted a video, saying Cyrus was using him. He later posted a clip of himself peeing on his own record for the single "Betrayed."

A crying Cyrus took to her own Instagram to let her fans know that her relationship with the rapper is apparently over. In a clip on her Instagram stories, she shared a screenshot of a text message between herself and Lil Xan, whose real name is Diego Leanos. The pic shows an image of pop star Charlie Puth, whose head is photoshopped onto a naked porn star's body. Lil Xan's response to the pic is, "Why did u send that pic wtf."

Cyrus added her own text to the screenshot, writing, "I'm heartbroken and confused. This is the meme I sent Diego that made him think I'm cheating on him." She also tagged Puth in the pic, saying she's "sorry."

Later, in a live video, Cyrus addressed the situation.

"If you're in a relationship, never let a man make you feel like you're less of yourself - or you're the problem - when you were the one that sat around being there for somebody," she said in the now-deleted vid. She later posted a message saying that her relationship with Lil Xan was not fake and "not set up by Columbia Records."

"To say that is a joke. It started when I got a DM from Diego and he asked me to hang out," she added. Cyrus also said she hadn't seen the rapper in a week and that she thinks he was cheating on her, claiming he had a hickey. She said Lil Xan said it was a bruise. Cyrus added that cheaters "accuse their partners of cheating to make themselves feel less guilty" and that she's been there for Lil Xan through "dark times."

The rapper addressed the fake Puth nude, telling fans that was not the reason for the split. "I broke up with her because she was all over some dude," he wrote

"This is the picture," he wrote again on his Instagram Story. "Call me whatever, but if you my girl, you ain't touching no dude like that, sorry."

Puth has not commented on the fake nude or the breakup.
