Sam Smith Opens Up About Breakup with '13 Reasons Why' Hunk Brandon Flynn

Sam Smith is opening up after his split with "13 Reasons Why" star Brandon Flynn.

Speaking with The Times UK, the pop singer called Flynn "wonderful."

"I'm still trying to figure out what I took from that relationship and what it meant to me. It's still quite raw," Smith, 26, said of the 24-year-old actor.

The duo dated for eight months before calling it quits earlier this year.

Smith added that though he'd prefer to keep his relationships and details private he told the newspaper its important for the public to see same-sex relationships.

"My life from the outside can seem glamorous, but the reality is that I am on tour every other year and I'm never home, and it's public," the "Stay with Me" singer told The Times UK.

He also opened up about what he's like in a relationship.

"I love sending flowers, leaving notes around the house and making thoughtful presents," Smith said. "I feel like I'm in a Richard Curtis film all the time. Which is bad, because I think everything should be like a movie and I get anxiety when it's not."

The Oscar winner went on to say for now he's focusing on himself.

"Right now, the thought of getting into a relationship is too much," he told the newspaper. "I just want to marry my job, work really hard and hopefully, when I'm not looking for [love], it will come."
