The series continues the adventures of Ash Williams, the character made a horror-movie legend by Bruce Campbell and introduced by Sam Raimi in his 1981 supernatural horror exploitation film "The Evil Dead." 30 years ago while on a camping trip into the rural backwoods of Tennessee, Ash and his friends discovered the Book of the Dead and an audiotape, and mistakenly unleashed a legion of demons. Ash's right hand became independently possessed and he was forced to slice it off, but eventually replaced it with a chainsaw in order to properly dispatch the forces of darkness. Now, three decades later, he's still at it.

With genre-series like "The Walking Dead" having proven themselves a ratings hit, the time was right to revitalize "The Evil Dead" franchise. With Raimi and Campbell both on board "Ash vs. Evil Dead" was well received by fans of the films and rekindled Campbell's charmingly charismatic demon hunter. In a drunken stupor and looking to impress a one-night stand, Ash opens the Book of the Dead, and although it made for good foreplay, they've unleashed dormant evil forces that are prepared to cause some chaos – blood-curdling, brain splattering chaos!

The forces of evil manifest themselves in the form of friends (and some foes) and take possession of human bodies in order to rend and tear love ones. Ash's chainsaw and less-than-perfect marksmanship are all that stands between good and evil. Now along with his two new sidekicks Pablo and Kelly, Ash has to figure out exactly how to decipher the book and put an end to the Evil Dead. As gory as you might imagine (the corn syrup budget alone is extraordinary) "Ash vs. Evil Dead" isn't clean fun, and it's certainly not for the faint of heart, but it's as funny as it is a fear fest.

Campbell and Lawless are camp perfection, and the scripts are funny when they aren't totally freaky! "Ash vs. Evil Dead" is a slasher film fan's fiesta. Given the dangerously dark tone of similar fare, this series is well-adept at not taking itself too seriously, and is a rollercoaster of fun! The entire series is available in a 6-disc Blu-ray set and is loaded with Special Features that include commentary from the show's stars and creators, behind-the-scenes featurettes that dive into the world of Ash and the Evil Dead, spotlighting the series' best kills and Ash's best one-liners!
