'Rocketman' Star Taron Egerton Says He has Sex Scene with Actor Richard Madden in Elton John Biopic

U.K. actor Taron Egerton is dishing about his upcoming Elton John biopic "Rocketman," in which he plays the iconic singer.

Speaking with The List, Egerton, 29, says he and costar Richard Madden, who plays John's manager and lover John Reid, have a sex scene together.

"I probably shouldn't be telling you this but we have a sex scene. We went to some places together and got quite physical," the "Kingsman" star told the publication. "I've watched it back and I think it looks great. The grown-up nature of the film, combined with it being a musical, makes it feel quite zeitgeisty.

"I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but it's basically about Elton in rehab, so we're not watering anything down," he added.

Egerton went on to say that he loved "every minute" of working on "Rocketman" and considers it his best film.

"I finished working on it two days ago, and I think it could be the best thing I've done," he told The List. "It feels very special and I've loved every minute of it. I've always loved singing and musicals, and I felt that there was that big side of myself that I haven't explored yet in films but this gave me the opportunity to do that.

"And it's very consciously a proud, gay film, and it's also open to showing Elton's darker moments," he continued.

Egerton made headlines earlier this month when fans speculated he came as gay after he shared a suggestive photo on Instagram. Nevertheless, the actor cleared up the rumors last week, confirming he's not gay.

"Rocketman" hits theaters in the U.S. on May 31.
