Louis C.K. Also Made Fun of Gender Neutral Pronouns in Controversial Set
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
Disgraced comedian Louis C.K. made headlines this week for leaked audio of a recent standup set in which he mocked Parkland shooting survivors. But in the same set, he also made fun of people who use gender neutral pronouns, Entertainment Weekly points out.
The audio posted to YouTube claimed the recording was from Dec. 16 during a set C.K., 51, did at the Governor's Comedy Club in Levittown, N.Y. In his set with new jokes, the "Louie" star compared his time as a young person to today's youth, who he called entitled and obnoxious.
Elsewhere, C.K. took aim at young people who identify as transgender and non-binary for using gender neutral pronouns like they/them.
"They're just boring! Telling you, 'you shouldn't say that.' What are you, an old lady? What the f– are you doing? 'That's not appropriate.' F– you, you're a child! Why aren't you finger-f–ing each other and doing Jello shots?" C.K. can be heard saying in the audio, according to EW. "They're like royalty, telling you how to address them. 'You should address me as they/them because I identify as gender-neutral.' Okay. You should address me as 'there' because I identify as a location, and the location is your mother's c–."
The actor and director also made headlines for joking about the students who survived the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla.
C.K. has been out of the spotlight for months after he promised to "step back and take a long time to listen" after women accused him of sexual misconduct in an article published in the New York Times (allegations he confirmed). Nevertheless, he also returned to standup in August with sets at the Comedy Cellar in New York City.
