Ryan Murphy's upcoming Netflix series "Ratched" is coming into focus.

The show, a "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" prequel about the character Nurse Ratched (played by the producer's mainstay Sarah Paulson), is set to begin production in the coming weeks and Netflix has already ordered a two-season 18-episode order, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The publication is also reporting that some major talent has joined the cast. "Sex and the City" star Cynthia Nixon and "Mosaic" star Sharon Stone will join Paulson on "Ratched." That's not all, however. Judy Davis ("Feud"), Corey Stoll ("The Strain"), Finn Wittrock ("American Horror Story"), Charlie Carver ("The Leftovers"), Jon Jon Briones ("Sons of Anarchy"), Hunter Parrish ("Weeds"), Amanda Plummer ("Pulp Fiction"), and Harriet Harris will also star.

Describing the cast, Murphy said they are "a true murderers row of talent."

"So many of these actors are supremely talented folks who Sarah and I have both longed to work with. ... Sarah, Cynthia, Judy, Amanda and Sharon, all doing scenes together? I cannot wait," the producer wrote on Instagram.

THR notes Murphy is set to direct the pilot episode, written by newcomer Evan Romansky, adding the story starts in 1947 and "follows Ratched's journey and evolution from nurse to monster. The show will follow her deadly progression through the mental health care system."

"Ratched" will be Murphy's first show for Netflix. Last year, he made headlines when he left Fox for the streaming service for a reported $300 million deal.
