British Actor Comes Out as Gay by Introducing Fans to His Boyfriend

A British actor came out as gay after receiving a DM on Instagram that he felt was homophobic and decided to make his relationship with his boyfriend known to his fans.

Ryan Sampson, 33, who stars on the British sitcom "Plebs," said that he got a hateful message on Instagram who wanted to "rope me into some (pretty creaky) homophobic banter." But he refused to fall into the trap and instead made the courageous move to come out.

"Huh! So, for clarity, here's a pic of me and the boyf. Just to, y'know... straighten that one out. As it were," he tweeted to his 32,000 fans, adding a photo of himself with his partner.

A number of Twitter users lauded him and showed him support when replying to the tweet.
