NYC Man Says Grindr Date Robbed Him After Ball & Gagging
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
A man from New York City's Greenwich Village told police he was robbed by a date he met on the gay dating app Grindr and that he couldn't call for help because he had "a jockstrap and ball gag in his mouth," according to the New York Post.
Authorities responded to a call about a home invasion robbery around 3 a.m. Saturday. After going to the 26-year-old victim's apartment, he told police he met his date in a section of Grindr called "Black Men Love Fisting," a source told the New York Post. He said they had consensual sex, which included latex bottles, rubber gloves, a leash, and a sex swing.
The encounter went south when the men got into an argument about the size of the suspect's penis. He then allegedly choked the victim and demanded money, sources told the newspaper.
The victim told police he thought the incident was part of the encounter until the man allegedly dragged him to a closet and took $3,000 from him. The victim said he tried to scream for help when he realized he was being robbed but sources told the New York Post he couldn't because he was gagged.
After the man left the scene, police took latex gloves, a dildo, and the sex swing for evidence, according to the newspaper's sources.
The suspect is being described as being in his late 30s with a goatee. He was wearing a white t-shirt at the time with black sweatpants and a black hoodie, police said.
