Sarah Paulson Hints She'll Appear in 'American Horror Story: 1984'
READ TIME: 2 MIN.
For the first time in its eight year run, "American Horror Story" will not feature its stars Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, both of whom have appeared in every single season of the FX anthology series. But that might not be totally true as Paulson recently hinted she might "pop up" in the ninth season of "AHS," titled "1984."
"AHS: 1984" features a much younger cast than previous seasons as the show is referencing 80s slasher flicks like "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Friday the 13th," in which teens faced dangerous serial killers and nightmare ghouls. But at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend, Paulson told "Entertainment Tonight" that she might "pop up" in the new "AHS" season.
"It's a little bittersweet because I have a lot of friends who are still on the show," she said. "So I'm getting updates about how it's all going and what they're doing, and I'm like, 'Wait, what? You worked until two? Oh, I remember working until two on that show.'"
And then I'm also very glad that I can wake up at a decent hour because I'm not cross-eyed from having worked insane nights," Paulson continued. "But, it'll be hard. I'll be watching and cheering everybody on. I'm really excited for this season. I think it's a really cool idea for the show this year.
"And you never know, I may pop up. You never know. No promises though," she told "ET."
Paulson has appeared in every season of "AHS," playing a number of different characters and sometimes different characters in the same season.
"AHS: 1984" premieres Sept. 18 on FX. Revisit the trailer here.
