Jason Bateman May Star & Direct 'Clue' Reboot with Ryan Reynolds
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
It sounds like Ryan Reynolds' attempt to make a new film based on the board game "Clue" is moving forward.
Deadline is reporting that actor Jason Bateman is in early talks to direct and star in the live-action film for Fox/Disney alongside Reynolds.
The news comes just days after Bateman won an Emmy for directing the Netflix drama "Ozark," in which he stars.
Bateman will develop a "Clue" script with Reynolds, who is producing along with Hasbro's film division Allsparks Pictures.
News of Reynolds' involvement in a "Clue" reboot was reported in January 2018 when it was reported that "Deadpool" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would pen the script.
The 1985 "Clue" comedy opened to poor reviews and box office at the time but went on to earn a cult following in the decades since. The film's ensemble cast included Tim Curry as the butler Wadsworth, Christopher Lloyd as Prof. Plum, Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White, Michael McKean as Mr. Green, Lesley Ann Warren as Ms. Scarlet, Martin Mull as Col. Mustard and Eileen Brennan as Mrs. Peacock.
