Krypton - The Complete Second & Final Season

Who will kneel? The greatest foe faced by Superman has returned to the past to guarantee that the Man of Steel will never be born! In "Krypton: The Complete Second & Final Season available now on Blu-ray and Digital and based on the DC Comics characters, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) may have lost his homeworld to the tyrant General Zod (Colin Salmon). Determined to end the legacy of Superman, Zod has traveled back from the future, enslaved his people and essentially unleashed the menace of the killing machine Doomsday in order to ensure his rule is unchallenged.

Hope is not all lost! Seg-El emerges with some new allies including the mercenary Lobo (Emmett J. Scanian) and hasn't given up on the space adventurer Adam Strange (returning series regular Shaun Sipos) to help him thwart the general's plans for universal conquest, and guarantee that Earth's Mightiest Hero has his day. It becomes a bed of twists and turns as the series navigates to its conclusion – and audiences may not be at all prepared for the most uncanny revelations as the climactic end draws nearer.

"Krypton" is full of intrigue and science-fiction spectacle. The series is well-written and acted and is a solid production, realizing the home planet of Superman that has remained mostly a mystery given the hero's more than 80-years in popular culture. There's no doubt that there might have been more story to tell and that after these 10-episodes it might have been able to continue, but alas it just wasn't meant to be. The series is a stand-out even in a primetime landscape that is saturated with superheroes; "Krypton" is a worthy component and will stand the test of time.

The 10 final episodes of the series are included on the 2-disc Blu-ray set which also is loaded with bonus "Special Features"! "The Fate od Superman" featurette is hosted by the show's executive producer David S. Goyer and gives fans his insight into the Man of Steel's ancestral lineage. An additional long-form featurette "Villains: Modes of Persuasion" takes an interesting look into the motivations and most dastardly deeds of some of the greatest villains in the DC universe, beyond just the realm of Doomsday, Brainiac and General Zod on "Krypton."
