Miley Cyrus is responding to the backlash she's facing after people took issue with her Instagram Live video in which she told fans they "don't have to be gay" because "there are good men out there."
Taking to Twitter Monday, Cyrus shared a screenshot of the Notes app to issue her apology to the LGBTQ community.
"I was talking shit about sucky guys, but let me be clear, YOU don't CHOOSE your sexuality," the "Wrecking Ball" singer wrote. "You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBQ community I am a part of. Happy Monday!"
On Sunday, Cyrus took to Instagram Live with her new boyfriend, Australian singer Cody Simpson, and told her fans, "There are good men out there...You don't have to be gay. There are good people with dicks out there. You just gotta find them. You gotta find a dick that's not a dick, you know what I mean?"
"I always thought I had to be gay because I just thought all guys were evil but that's not true," she went on to say. "There are good people out there that just happen to have dicks. I've only ever met one."
