After Controversy, Sean Spicer Booted from 'Dancing with the Stars' – Trump Weighs In
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
After "Dancing with the Stars" judges voiced their frustration that Sean Spicer continued to survive on the competition show despite getting some of the lowest scores, the former press secretary to President Donald Trump was finally eliminated despite help for the Chief of State.
President Trump had been taking the time to stump for Spicer by tweeting and urging people to vote for him. On "Dancing with the Stars," celebs are scored by a panel of judges as well as viewers at home, which factor together to make an overall score. Despite getting poor scores from judges, Spicer continued to sneak through the competition, annoying judges, who became vocal with his success. Click here to read more about that.
But it looks like Trump's tweets weren't enough to keep Spicer on the reality show as Spicer was finally booted this week. Taking to Twitter, Spicer thanked his fans.
A number of conservatives were also stumping for Spicer, including the president's son, Donald Trump Jr.
"Guys get this going again for Spicy. The meltdown the Hollywood types keep having when he wins with your votes is soooo worth the time. Get on it!!!" he wrote.
Donald Trump tweeted his support for Spicer on Monday but deleted the tweet after he was eliminated from the show.
He followed it up, however:
Spicer, in turn, thanked Trump, writing, "Thank you @POTUS @realDonaldTrump I can't begin to express how much your continued support has meant, especially during my time on
@DancingABC."
