Same-sex couple Kate Austin and Sarah Sulsenti were heartbroken when they learned that their parents would skip their wedding, disapproving of their sexuality. But, the two received a major surprise from Ellen DeGeneres after tweeting at her and Chrissy Teigen about their situation.

Ellen answered the call, responding on Twitter simply: "See you tomorrow."

The comedian invited the couple onto her show Tuesday, and arranged for family members who were supportive of their relationship to attend. Ellen also provided Austin and Sulsenti with a cardboard cutout of herself with a retractable arm which could hold tissues for them at their wedding.

"Sulsenti then got down on one knee and re-proposed to Austin in front of their family, friends, and their 'biggest role model,'" Explaining the situation to Ellen and the audience, Austin explained how her parents didn" t="" approve="" of="" her="" relationship="" and="" wedding,="" and="" what="" led="" her="" to="" tweet="" for="" support.
"My mom was really terrible," Austin said. "She said everything you could think of under the sun."

Austin went on to outline the impact Ellen had on her thought process and relationship, saying: "If it wasn't for someone like you, I would have never had the courage to just go out there in the public and propose to my fiance. So many people don't accept that. You paved the way for queer women everywhere."

Responding to Austin's moving story, Ellen reiterated her familiar message of kindness for all, saying: "Everybody deserves love. That's the most important thing. That is all that matters in this life."
