A snowball of an adventure! Yi (voiced by Chloe Bennet) has aspirations to travel the world. She's felt sorely isolated and abandoned for a long time, even though her family has done their best to keep her optimistic and hopeful, they just can't seem to get through to her. Yi is constantly keeping busy and saving up her salary, but when a mysterious creature stumbles into her life, everything is changed and her world suddenly opens up. In "Abominable" the animated feature from DreamWorks available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital Download, Yi and her friends set out on a perilous mission that takes them across the heart of China.

The mysterious of the East are plenty, and among the most enchanting is the myths surrounding the yeti that supposedly inhabit the heights of Everest. Away from prying eyes, these wooly creatures have lived in much isolation, but a young one has been captured and trapped in a research science facility, pricked and prodded by a scientist trying to uncover its secrets. When the yeti breaks out it finds itself lost in Beijing and founds itself a shelter on a rooftop apartment where it befriends Yi. It isn't long before the pair become friends and eventually find themselves hunted by the yeti's captors. Yi has little alternative but to help her new yeti friend find his way back home to safety.

Joined by Yi's neighbors Jin and Peng, the quartet soon learn that there's much more to Everest than meets the eye and the yeti helps to heal the loneliness and disconnect in their own lives while imparting its own values of family, friendship and love. It's a thrilling and emotional adventure as the trio travel across the animated landscape of China, making their way to the heights of the wintery mountain home of Everest, evading dangerous hunters along the way. "Abominable" is a blend of wonderful animated magic and emotion that will resonate with all audiences of every age.

The Blu-ray is packaged with several bonus features that share some insight from the filmmakers and cast about the story behind the story and the making of this animated movie. The screenwriter reveals the inspiration for the film's hero, Everest The Yeti, was based on her love of growing up with big dogs. The movie's leading lady Chloe Bennet, the star of Marvel's "Agents of SHIELD" also reveals her unique connection to playing "Yi" and her connection to the character and especially telling this story and keeping it authentically Chinese. "Abominable" is set on the other side of the world and is a wonderfully animated valentine to the Chinese culture and the typography of the countryside.

The 4K Ultra HD offering of the movie provides the most attractive experience for enjoying this animated wonder at home in high dynamic range that just helps to enhance the beauty and "realist" quality of this enchanting adventure made for the entire family to enjoy. Also included as part of the "extras" package are 2 bonus animated shorts, with one continuing after the film's climax giving us a glimpse of Everest at home and acclimating to his yeti tribe. It's a humorous perspective as he tries to bring everyone up to speed on his escapades before returning to his home in the mountains. "Abominable" is an avalanche of a good time, with enough heart and humor to keep you engaged.
