Lady Gaga Shares 'Chromatica' Album Cover, Still No Release Date

Lady Gaga is sharing the album artwork for her forthcoming album "Chromatica," which was supposed to arrive this Friday.

Taking to social media, the pop star posted the photo while writing "#Chromatica 2020." Gaga's new album was scheduled to be out on April 10 but due to the coronavirus pandemic, she decided to postpone its release and has yet given a new release date for "Chromatica."

The album cover shows a cyborg Gaga of sorts with pink hair. It appears as though she's being pinned to a metal grate with a foggy pink background by alien technology.

So far, Gaga has released just one song off "Chromatica," her single "Stupid Love," which peaked at no. 5 on Billboard's Hot 100. When announcing the album's postponement, Gaga wrote on social media, "This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this, it just doesn't feel right to me to release this album with all that is going on during this global pandemic."

Gaga isn't the only musician to delay the release of new music. The indie band HAIM and U.K. crooner Sam Smith both decided to hold off on releasing their forthcoming albums. Smith said they're even renaming their album, no longer calling it "To Die For."

"Chromatica" follows Gaga's 2016 album "Joanne" and her 2018 soundtrack album "A Star is Born."
