READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Ready for a makeover? Why not have some historical fun with the help of Cincinnati Museum Center. The recently launched video series, Vintage Beauties, explores looks from the 1920s through the 1980s and how each era's political and social climates influenced beauty standards and style for women.
Viewers can follow along as Vanessa Van Zant-Macy, Senior Director of Museum Experience, explores and shares insights on each decade with a variety of videos on the CMC's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Vintage Beauties is a spinoff of the museum's annual 1940s Day, an immersive celebration of the pivotal decade. The event, typically held in August, highlights music, fashion, vehicles and the people who shaped that time period. The museum has a personal connection to this era since it calls Cincinnati's Union Terminal home, which once provided rail transportation to 17,000 passengers daily in the 1930s to 1970s and especially during World War II.
CMC's location and expertise in American History provide them with a unique position to offer Vintage Beauties, giving viewers an entertaining way to learn while spending much-needed time on self-care.
