Watch: Netflix Shares Trailer for New Ryan Murphy Glitzy Drama 'Hollywood'
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Netflix has shared the first trailer for a new glitzy limited drama series called "Hollywood," from producer Ryan Murphy ("American Horror Story," "Pose," "The Politician").
The new show follows a group of characters – both real and fictional – as they navigate their careers in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Co-created by Murphy and Ian Brennan, Netflix says "Hollywood" will follow "a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown – no matter the cost.
"Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood's Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day," Netflix's synopsis reads. "Provocative and incisive, 'Hollywood' exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled."
The show will star some big names, including Patti LuPone ("Pose"), Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory"), Dylan McDermott ("American Horror Story"), Holland Taylor ("Two and a Half Men"), Darren Criss ("American Crime Story"), David Corenswet ("The Politician"), Maude Apatow ("Euphoria") and more.
"Hollywood" hits Netflix on May 1. Check out the trailer below.
