The cast of "Queer as Folk" is reuniting online to celebrate the show's 20th anniversary and to help raise money for LGBTQ groups that are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic, People magazine reports.
The event will take place on YouTube on May 1 and will be hosted by actor Scott Lowell, who played Ted. A number of the "QAF" cast is expected to make an appearance, including Sharon Gless (Debbie), Peter Paige (Emmett), Michelle Clunie (Melanie), Hal Sparks (Michael), Randy Harrison (Justin) and Robert Gant (Ben). The show's creators Ron Cowen and Dan Lipman are also set to appear on the livestream and People notes more actors could join.
Taking to Instagram, Harrison reacted to the reunion, noting he'll be "spilling the tea."
"It's almost our 20 Year Anniversary, WTF? Please come help us reminisce and raise money for an amazing organization," the actor wrote. "I'm not a reliable source of further information, but I will be there and I will be spilling. the. tea. You know me, yak yak yak."
People magazine reports folks watching the livestream will be able to bid on show memorable while donating to CenterLink, which supports more than 250 LGBTQ community centers across the U.S.
In 2018, it was reported that "Queer as Folk" is the latest TV series getting rebooted without Canadian director Stephen Dunn ("Closet Monster") writing the new show with Russell T. Davies, who created the British version of the show. The show is said to have a new cast and a new setting.
