"Home Alone" star Macaulay Culkin is revealing exactly why he's going to appear in the upcoming season of "American Horror Story."

In an interview with E! News, "AHS" co-creator Ryan Murphy said he enticed the 39-year-old actor to join the "AHS" cast for its 10th season by offering him a "very, very great, insane part."

"I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things," Murphy said. "And he paused and he goes, 'This sounds like the role I was born to play.' So, he signed up right then and there.

"I have always loved Macaulay Culkin's work. I loved everything that he's done. I love the stuff he did in 'Home Alone.' I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn't worked in a while," Murphy added.

Bates, 71, has been on several seasons of the long-running FX anthology series, earning two Emmy wins for her roles, staring since "AHS: Coven," or Season 3.

Murphy has teased the upcoming season of "AHS" but hasn't revealed too much about it, like its theme. Though, he did share its cast, which also includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lorde, Leslie Grossman, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock, Adina Porter and more. (He also recently revealed the iconic Rubber Man demon will return.) Earlier this year it was reported that FX and the "AHS" team were scouting locations to film in Provincetown, Mass. – an LGBTQ vacation destination – but Murphy told E! News that "AHS" Season 10 is on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic halting most of Hollywood's productions.

"We're waiting for the crisis to be over because all those scripts are written and I'm excited for him to play that part," Murphy said."I'm excited for him to be in my world because I think ... I'm gonna want to do a lot of things with him if he wants to work, because I think he's fascinating and interesting, and I think he has a soul. There's both a lightness and darkness with Macaulay Culkin that I'm attracted to."

Speaking with The Wrap, however, Murphy said he might need to rethink homeports of "AHS" Season 10 once production begins because weather apparently plays an important role.

"A lot of what I was going to shoot was dependent on a very specific moment, it was a weather-dependent show," Murphy said. "So now I don't know. I don't know what we're going to do. I don't know what I'm gonna do next with that show. I don't know if I'll accelerate another season or wait till next year to shoot this one."
