Out filmmaker Luca Guadagnino has announced his next project and it's not a sequel to the gay coming-of-age film "Call Me By Your Name."

Variety reports Guadagnino is attached to direct a remake of the popular gangster film "Scarface," with a script written by the Coen Brothers. The film will apparently be set in Los Angeles and is a "reimagining of the core immigrant story told in both the 1932 and 1983 films."

The 1983 version of the story was directed by Brian De Palma, and stars Al Pacino as the iconic role of Tony Montana. No actors have been announced for the project.

The announcement comes after Guadagnino said he spoke with "Call Me By Your Name" stars Timothe Chalamet and Armie Hammer, who are apparently up to star in the film's sequel "Find Me," based on the recently published book. In February it was also announced Guadagnino will be making a HBO series called "We Are Who Were."

Guadagnino's last movie, a "remix" of the iconic '70s film "Suspiria," was released in 2018.
