"RuPaul's Drag Race" Season 12 is heading towards its end and some fans are wondering how the show's live finale extravaganza will be filmed amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the pandemic indeed complicated production and that a reunion episode, airing May 22 on VH1, was filmed virtually. It'll feature the 12 contestants (sans Sherry Pie, who was disqualified from the show after a number of men came forward to accuse the performer of sexual misconduct) and have a slumber party theme. Host RuPaul will talk to the gals about the season's most shocking moments, how they're coping during quarantine and answer questions from fans.

The following week, on May 29, VH1 will air the Season 12 finale. EW writes it will be the show's "most technically challenging finale yet, which was shot with RuPaul and the cast via virtual video using boundary-pushing technology to highlight the creativity of each queen." The contestants "will compete in a revolutionary lip-sync for the crown amid guest appearances from season 11 champion Yvie Oddly and other secret celebrities." Nina West, who was crowned Miss Congeniality in Season 11, will also appear to announce her successor that comes with a $10,000 prize.

Tonight, the final five (Crystal Methyd, Gigi Goode, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, and Sherry Pie) will compete to enter the finale and become the final four.
