People reports that James William Ross – formerly known as Tyra Sanchez, winner of "RuPaul's Drag Race" season 2 (2010) – was arrested in Atlanta on Thursday and charged with vandalism.
According to the report, officers responded to a vandalism call at an apartment complex at 10:24am on Thursday. An on-site security officer for the complex said that somebody spray-painted "Do Not Move Here" across his building. A witness observed a male spray-painting the graffiti earlier in the morning and officers were able to identify and then locate Ross, who was arrested and charged with criminal damage to property.
Earlier this year, in March, Ross announced his retirement from drag and started a new Instagram account. In a now-deleted post to Tyra's Instagram account, Ross explained his retirement from drag as wanting "muscles, no more shaving my face, I want to look like ZADDY!... MY NAME IS JAMES OR JAY. NOT TYRA, SHE, MA'AM, OR QUEEN." Tyra's bare account now only contains one post, from August 1, declaring the drag queen is "dead... not coming back":
