Watch: 'Tiger King' Star Carole Baskin Comes Out as Bisexual

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

Carole Baskin, one of the subjects of the popular true-crime Netflix series "Tiger King," has come out as bisexual.

"I have always considered myself to be bisexual," Baskin, 59, told PinkNews in an interview. "Even though I've never had a wife, I could just as easily have a wife as a husband ... I just don't see us as being different genders or different colors, or different anything."

The "Dancing with the Stars" contestant went on to say that she came to the revelation while engaged to a psychologist involved in the LGBTQ community during the AIDS crisis in the 80s.

"I became very close to people in that community then," she said, adding that she's "always very male-oriented in the things I did." She also said that she was "probably born into the wrong body" because she was a big "tomboy."

"I never had any mothering instincts or anything," Baskin said. "I never played with dolls. And so I always thought that there was something off there, that I couldn't quite put my finger on."

She was also asked if her "Tiger King" costar Joe Exotic, who is gay and currently in prison, is a good representation of the LGBTQ community.

"I think he's an embarrassment to the human community," she said. "It's not a matter of what your sexuality is, this man is just a deviant in the way that he treats human life and animal life."
