Moving Truck Outside of White House Leads to Speculation that Melania Is Making Her Exit

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Melania Trump was the last one in and may be the first one out.

When Donald Trump moved into the White House in early 2017, it took five months for the First Lady and son Barron to move there.

Now rumors are circulating that the First Lady is making the first move to get out because a Pesnke moving truck was seen in the driveway of the White House on Wednesday.

"A removal truck-style vehicle spotted outside the White House has sparked a wave of jokes that Melania Trump is moving out after the US election comes to a close," reports the British website The Daily Star.

Twitter user @happywithmeok shared a clip of the moment last night (November 4), writing: "I'm taking this live shot of the White House, with a moving truck outside, as a good omen."

"The vehicle, many joked, looked like a removal truck leading to a whole host of comments that the most powerful couple in the world are already preparing to move out," adds The Daily Star.

Some thought the pic was doctored, but the fact-checking website Snopes checked it out and concluded that the image is real.

"While we note that: A) moving trucks can serve myriad potential uses; and that B) presidents, even when they lose, typically don't move out of the White House until the end of their terms in January, the video is authentic," Snopes writes.

"The footage came from C-SPAN and shows a live shot of the White House on Nov. 4 at around 2:50 p.m. EST. Used as a visual filler between a press conference for U.S. Senator Lindsay Graham and a press conference for U.S. Senate candidate Cory Gardner, the clip spanned two minutes from 2:50 to 2:52 p.m. Here is the video in context:

"Because the video is authentic, the claim of it being a live shot from outside the White House on Nov. 4, 2020, is true. Snopes remains agnostic, however, as to the truck's purpose."
