Watch: Jimmy Fallon, Rannells Perform Medley Mocking 2020 on 'The Tonight Show'

"The Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon joined out Broadway star Andrew Rannells ("The Boys in the Band," "Hairspray," "The Book of Mormon") for an eight-minute musical medley saluting the best of the worst of 2020.
The segment was titled, appropriately, "2020: The Musical." Fallon threw himself into the mashup's song and dance, but Rannells, a bona fide Broadway star, stole the show, which blended parodic snippets of signature tunes from famous musicals into a comic commentary on the pandemic, working from home via Zoom!, PPE, social distancing (which featured noticeably in the choreography), and, of course, this year's presidential elections, along with Donald Trump's counter-factual claims to have won a second term.
The pair repurposed songs from some of Broadway's biggest shows, including "A Chorus Line," "Wicked," "Dreamgirls," "Cats," "West Side Story," "Hamilton," and others. When the medley swerved from COVID to the election it was to the strains of "You Can't Stop the Beat" from Hairspray, which was refashioned as "You can't stop the count."
