Ex-Adult Star Jessie Coulter Shares Emotional Video about his Brain Cancer Diagnosis
READ TIME: 3 MIN.
In May former adult film star Jessie Coulter revealed he had been "diagnosed with an incurable kind of brain cancer," reported the NSFW website The Sword.
In his moving Instagram post, he wrote of his difficulties with coming forth with the information, as well as asking those who read it not to contact him or his family about his diagnosis.
"The reason I waited this long was because, between then and now, things were either really good or really bad in my life, and I didn't want to make things worse or diminish the good times. What I learned from all this is that there is never a good time," he wrote.
Saying he wasn't looking for sympathy and had made peace with the diagnosis. Adding: "What I need now is feeling good and feeling loved, laughing and spending time with people who I care about.
I need to make everyday count, because it is undetermined exactly how much time I have left."
He recently posted a pair of Instagrams that offered updates on his condition, the latest offering very hopeful news. In the first, posted on Thanksgiving, he wrote: "I'll keep it short... my tumors have been growing slowly, causing me seizures, memory loss, extreme fatigue and permanent blindness in my left eye." After explaining he had gone off the medications that were giving him side effects, he wrote: "But despite all of these challenges I can't help but be thankful... thankful for the life I have, the people that are in it and the love that I have received from so many. Thank you so much for being supportive and proving to me that despite all the woes in this world that there are still good people with kind hearts and beautiful souls willing to step up and say 'you are not alone.'"
In the second, posted earlier today, he offered a emotional and hopeful update: "Today I saw a neurologist that I haven't seen before and we did the MRI and there was zero growth, which is great and fantastic."
His new neurologist offered him "so much good news," he explained with his voice breaking. "She said out of the twenty-plus years she has been doing this she has seen dozens of cases very similar to mine and of all of them, only one of them has not survived as a result. This is something that you can easily live with. She's, like, this is something that you have a very, very high likelihood of surviving and it not really altering your life so much that you can't live your life as you always have. And, she's like, I am so sorry you had to go through so much to get this point to get this good news. Because this is the first time I have gotten good news all year. Every day has been a struggle for me, just waking up and just being scared because I don't know what's going to happen day-to-day. Some days I wake up and I'm fine. Some days I wake up and not know where I am. Some days I have woken up and not even know who I am."
But his new neurologist assured him that these issues can be manageable. Then, breaking down, he says to his followers: "There is one thing you can't change is having more time and I am so grateful that I am going to have more time."
He went on to thank those who have helped him financially, adding in his post: "I could really use help paying off some debt I've occurred during this time. If you can help out please donate to my gofundme (link in bio) and if not please share the link. I love you all from the bottom of my heart."
