John Krasinski Seals 'SNL' Monologue with a Kiss (with Pete Davidson)
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Is it always awkward when straight guys kiss? It seemed that way on "Saturday Night Live" when host John Krasinski capped his opening monologue by passionately kissing Pete Davidson.
The joke behind host John Krasinski's opening monologue was that he can't escape his "The Office" character Jim Halpert as he is barraged by audience members (played by SNL regulars) with questions about Pam. He tells them Pam is a fictional character, but Pete Davidson insists that he kiss her, or a reasonable facsimile. He agrees, and kisses Davidson. With his eyes closed, Davidson appears uncomfortable while Krasinski is lipsmacking him.
"Many people were very into it!," wrote BuzzFeed, "Though, that being said, some others pointed out that using two straight men kissing for laughs...well...isn't funny." Here are some Twitter responses.
