Netflix Queue tweeted the following message on February 1:

"In case you need a reminder, the show is about a stripper was framed for murder," reads the tweet announcing the news that Michele Morrone, 30, and Federica Sabatinii, 29, have joined the cast of the drama series, UPI confirmed. "'Toy Boy' originally premiered on Antena 3 in 2019 before coming to Netflix. The series co-stars Cristina Castao and Mara Pedraza.

Morrone responded on Instagram with "'Toy Boy 2' Let's get started," punctuated with a fire emoji.

The website Pride described the show this way: "Filled to the brim with drama, mess, and nearly-naked men, the show follows a male stripper named Hugo (Jess Mosquera) who is trying to find out who framed him for murdering his paramour's husband. 'Toy Boy' is also LGBTQ-inclusive, featuring gay characters amongst the squad of elite (and sexy AF) dancers."

Back in December Esquire cited a trending meme that "2020 was a bad year for everyone, except for this 'guy' plastered over a picture of a startlingly handsome man laughing. The 'guy' it was referring to was Michele Morrone." What made him a trending meme was his role of an Italian Mafioso in the Netflix erotic drama "365 Days," an erotic drama based on a best-selling Polish book about an Italian Mafioso who imprisons a woman for a period of 365 days. "To say that the campy, over-stylised, hypersexualized film was not a critical success would be an understatement, however, to say that it was a success would be an even bigger understatement," wrote Esquire in an interview with the actor about his newfound success.

"When Netflix decided to distribute it, I knew it would be good exposure, but I was not expecting all of this. I was not expecting Forbes to be proclaiming it as the most watched film in the history of Netflix," he says.

"You have to understand," he begins, "the night the film premiered on Netflix, I went to sleep and I had 48k followers [on Instagram]. When I woke up I had 2.1 million." His eyes go wide and wild when he recounts the story, every now and then he shakes his head.

When he got the role in "365 Days" he was working as a gardener and got a random call from the film's director Tomasz Mandes, who said: "Listen, I don't know you, but I need you," writes Esquire. He told the actor, who was going through a dry patch, that he had booked him a ticket to Poland for the next morning. Morrone called in sick, packed underwear and socks, and flew to Poland where a contract waited for him.

"Only after that did they even send me the script. I remember thinking: 'I don't think I'm going to go back to the park anymore!' It's fair to say that it has been a non-stop rollercoaster ride since then,'" he told Esquire. His singing career also got a boost with four songs he wrote for the "365 Days" soundtrack. Watch the video of Morrone performing the song "Feel It" from the film.

"Among his many tattoos – 19 and counting – is one stamped across the back of his left hand. It reads the Marilyn Manson lyric: 'Everyone will come to my funeral to make sure that I stay dead'. It's not the kind of tattoo that would belong to a shrinking violet."
