Out Comic/Actor Joel Kim Booster Posts Thirst Trap in Twitter Challenge

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Out comic and actor Joel Kim Booster jokes about his childhood this way: "As you can imagine, it was a little weird growing up in the Midwest with this face and that family. I literally knew I was gay before I knew I was Asian," he told Vulture in 2017.

He was adopted from Korea by an Evangelical Christian white couple who homeschooled Booster until he was 16.He knew he was gay from childhood, but kept it a secret. When he was senior in high school, his parents discovered he was gay by reading his diary, and he left home. Theater became the way he found himself in show business, first in Chicago, then New York, when he moved there in 2014, where his career took off. He's performed on "Conan," written for "Billy on the Street," and had a Comedy Central Stand-Up Presents special. In 2018 he released his debut stand-up album, "Model Minority," which covered racism in the gay community, growing up Asian in a white community, and his own non-adherence to stereotypes about Asian Americans. He has also appeared on Aidy Bryant's Hulu series "Shrill," and was a regular on the 2019 NBC series "Sunnyside."

He also isn't afraid of showing off, as he did by responding to a tweet by singer Savannah Cristina for people to post "a picture of when you just KNEW your body was FIRE." Among the hundreds of responses, Booster's caught the attention of the adult male website The Sword, who offered this thirst-trapping tweet of himself in a jock strap. But his hot pic had a caveat: "Definitely going to delete this if anyone is mean about it."
