Lil Nas X's "Saturday Night Live" debut couldn't have been sexier and more unapologetically gay. He performed his controversial smash hit "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" shirtless, in leather pants backed-up with buff and similarly-styled dancers, and a pole central in the set that, of course, he danced with.

The song "was an instant hit, debuting at the top of Billboard Hot 100 for the week of April 10, 2021, with 21,000 downloads, 46.9 million streams, and 1.1 million radio airplay audience impressions,reported the Dailyl Mail.

And then came a surprise when he danced with the pole. "(W)hen Lil Nas X started gyrating against it just past the 2:20 mark, his pants split. He stood up and immediately covered his crotch with his hand, which stayed firmly in place for the rest of the performance, with Lil Nas X standing still in front of the pole while the dancers continued their choreography," writes Deadline.

Lil Nas X joked about it after on Twitter.




And summarized his performance this way:

"at first i was afraid to even perform. then we rehearsed for 2 weeks, then all of the dancers got removed because one had covid and new ones had to learn the routine in 24 hours, and then i ended up ripping my pants and couldn't finish. everything happens for a reason tho lol"
