Did Italian Hunk Michele Morrone Come Out? No, He Says on IG

READ TIME: 2 MIN.

Michele Morrone, the Italian actor who became an international star after appearing in Netflix's sexy drama "365 Days," became a trending topic after posting a pic of himself in an embrace with another man.

In the post, Morrone appears to be getting up close and intimate with actor-model Simone Susinna, who appears in the forthcoming "365 Days" sequel. Morrone cryptically captioned the image: "I'm a liar."

Considering the photo was shared on the first day of Pride Month, many social media users speculated Morrone was using it as an opportunity to come out. But on June 2, Morrone shot down the rumors with an IG Stories post, reported Just Jared.

"This morning, I woke up with my team calling me and saying, 'Hey, there's a lot of articles...saying that you came out,' because of the picture I took withSimone," Morrone wrote. "He became a very good friend of mine, we're like brothers. We're shooting a movie together. Guys, it was just a picture. Nothing more."

He added: "And by the way...I'm a very big supporter of the LGBT community. But we're just talking about a normal picture. I didn't come out."

Addressing the caption ("I'm a liar"), Morrone explained: "An actor is a kind of liar. That's why I wrote that. Acting...someone who is not. I didn't come out. So, I'm so sorry for the confusion. As I said, I'm a big supporter of the LGBT community. There's a lot of young guys and young girls...they would love to come out but they don't do it because of their families. You know, happiness is priceless, guys."

"365 Days" was a big Netflix hit. "The film registered on Netflix's daily Top 10 lists in more than 90 countries, and was the fourth most searched movie on Google globally in 2020, according to the streamer," Deadline wrote in a report that two sequels to the film are in the works.

"Original cast members Michele Morrone and Anna-Maria Sieklucka (spoiler alert) will reprise their lead roles, with Magdalena Lamparska also returning. Model and actor Simone Susinna is joining the cast as new character Nacho. [Barbara Bialowas] and Tomasz Mandes are back on directing duties."
