'Big Brother 23' Cast Revealed, Check Out the 16 New Houseguests

READ TIME: 1 MIN.

The 16 houseguests who will compete on the upcoming "Big Brother" Season 23 have finally been revealed.

After last year's "All-Stars" edition (which aired later than usual due to the pandemic), this season finds the long-running CBS reality show going back to basics, welcoming a group of brand-new players. As previously reported, the network vowed to have its reality shows more diverse by having a cast that is at least 50% BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color).

"But it is a fairly young cast, too, with a median age of 27. The youngest houseguest, graduate student Hannah Chaddha, is just 21 years old, while 40-year-old phlebotomist Tiffany Mitchell will be this season's oldest participant," TVLine writes. "Elsewhere in the cast, players include swimwear designer Alyssa Lopez, flight attendant Brent Champagne, farmer Brandon "Frenchie" French and forensic scientist Sarah Steagall."

"Big Brother" has a history of coming under fire for casting houseguests who have used racist, homophobic, and misogynist language. Last year, some players came under fire for mocking a fellow contestant's autism.

Earlier this week, "Big Brother" producers spoke with Entertainment Weekly about some of the twists fans can expect this season – like putting houseguests into teams – as well as what this year's theme will be. They also talked about casting decisions and how this season will also have a gambling aspect to it.

"Big Brother" Season 23 arrives July 7 with a 90-minute premiere, with Julie Chen Moonves returning as host. Check out the cast below or click here to read the profiles for each houseguest.
