Lil Nas X's BET Awards Performance With Same-Sex Kiss Got Just 3 FCC Complaints
READ TIME: 1 MIN.
Lil Nas X's BET Awards performance is still making headlines well over a week since he locked lips with a male backup dancer onstage.
Despite sparking outrage in certain corners of the internet, on Wednesday, TMZ reported the Federal Communications Commission, the government independent agency that regulates communications on TV, only received three complaints concerning the same-sex kiss.
"I was very disturbed to see 2 men practically having [sex onstage] when the awards show is supposed to be a family show," one disgruntled viewer wrote. "It's ridiculous and children and adults are being forced to endure this. Unacceptable and I will be unsubscribing from BET network. DISGUSTING AND DISTURBING!!!!!!!!"
Another unhappy watcher complained: "During a performance 2 gay men kissed. Why are you showing this on tv. It is disgusting and wrong for kids to see because it's unnatural."
TMZ also reported that a third detractor took umbrage about the apparent satanism of Nas X's performance.
"For comparison, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion's Grammy performance of 'WAP,' and J Lo and Shakira's Super Bowl Halftime show each inspired more than 1,000 FCC complaints," the celebrity gossip outlet noted.
Though people didn't complain directly to the FCC, there were a number of trolls who took issue with the rapper's performance of his hit song "Montero (Call Me by Your Name)." In case you missed it, the rapper easily clapped back at his haters on Twitter.
In related news, not long after the much-talked-about presentation, Nas X officially announced his debut album, "Montero," is due out this year.
