Listen: Elton John Reveals Ed Sheeran's B-Day Gift: 'A Giant Marble Penis'

Out pop music legend Elton John regaled the hosts of a radio show with an anecdote about the present Ed Sheeran gave him for his birthday last March.

"For my birthday he gave me a giant marble penis," John, 74, told the hosts of the "Carrie and Tommy Show," U.K. newspaper The Sun reports.

"I don't know if that's because I've always been a prick or what," John added. "It's really big; I mean, it's quite beautifully made. It's sold marble."

"Where is it?" the pop singer was asked when the laughter subsided.

"I suggested to David [Furnish, John's husband] that I should put it in the garden," John said. "He said, 'No, we have children,'" namely, eight-year-old Elijah and his ten-year-old brother, Zachary.

"It's kind of hidden in an area in the house where they wouldn't see it," John went on to say.

The rock legend went on to reiterate the magnificence of the objet d'art, saying, "It's a beautifully made stone penis. What can tell you? What do you buy the man who has everything? A huge marble penis!"

John added some context to the story, Buzzfeed reports, telling the radio show hosts, "We've been friends for years because I used to manage him."

The superstar went on to say that he and Sheeran "kid each other and we play tricks on each other," the Buzzfeed article detailed.

The "Bad Habits" singer has something of a reputation of oddball gift giving, the Sun noted. In an interview on James Corden's Late Late Show, Sheeran revealed the surprise he gave Courteney Cox.

Sheeran was staying with Cox, the singer told Corden, when Cox, pointing out a modern fixture, told him: " 'This is my Alexa. I can just order whatever on this.'

"So she walks out of the room, and I go, 'Alexa, order me a gimp mask,' " Sheeran said. After Cox's assistant opened the package and left the gift on her bed, Sheeran recounted, Cox "comes up and she's like, 'Where did this come from?' "

The mask turned out to be the gift that keeps on giving – or, rather, Sheeran has made a custom out of giving such masks to Cox. As Sheeran explained, "Now when I go back there, I order her another gimp mask. She has maybe, like, 12. I hide them in people's bedrooms. So they'll go in the drawer and find a leather S&M mask."
