The stakes have never been higher, as over-achieving and aspiring star-spangled superheroine Courtney Whitmore, better known as Stargirl (Brec Bassinger), faces the challenges that come with fighting for truth and justice and keeping her grades in line, in DC's "Stargirl - The Complete Second Season," available now on Blu-ray and Digital. After preventing the villainous Injustice Society of America from launching a scheme that would have enslaved the population of Blue Valley, and then the world, Stargirl and her newly-formed Justice Society appear to have won their first victory.

Unfortunately for them, their battles have only just begun! A new enemy has come to Blue Valley, Nebraska, and opened up a whole new Pandora's box that might bring down Stargirl and her band of costumed friends before they've had a chance to make their mark. If that weren't enough, Courtney finds herself in an even more perilous predicament: Summer school! DC's "Stargirl" also stars Luke Wilson, Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Cameron Gellman, Anjelika Washington, and Trae Romano.

In the Second Season of the popular CW series, based on the DC comics character, Stargirl struggles to keep her team together as a dangerous adversary from the Justice Society's past returns and attempts to tear them apart from the inside. Pat (Luke Lucas) must also come to terms with a desperate decision that might drive a wedge between him and his stepdaughter, who is working to fully embrace her heroic journey and assume the mantle of a hero. But the villainous Eclipso (guest star Nick E. Tarabay) has plans to end them all.

Being a teenager is tough enough, but among Courtney and her friends, they have inherited the roles of the "Golden Age" heroes in the Justice Society – history's first team of adventures, of which Pat Dugan was a member as Stripsey. With the reemergence of Eclipso, released from its prison by Cindy Burman (Meg DeLacy) the daughter of the would-be-conqueror and ISA mastermind, the Dragon King, Pat is reminded of the JSA's first confrontation with Eclipso, and the consequences they faced when deciding the fate of the enemy.

The flashback introduces Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp) and reunites Pat and Starman (recurring guest star Joel McHale), establishing the Justice Society's legacy in the grand scheme of the DC TV primetime universe, something fans have been hoping to see since the series was first launched. Also joining the cast this season is Jonathan Cake as Richard Swift, The Shade, but is he friend or foe? As Cindy Burman pulls together her own team of super-powered agents to take on Stargirl and her JSA, the power of Eclipso works its spell on Wildcat (Yvette Monreal) turning her against her friends!

Created for television by comic book great Geoff Johns and Berlanti Productions ("Arrow", "Titans", "Doom Patrol") DC's "Stargirl" is the exception among its counterparts as it feels fresh and new. The cast is a winning collection of likable personalities and the production remains top-notch feeling like a blockbuster movie: "The Breakfast Club" meets "The Avengers". It's a real wonder!

The 3-disc set includes all13 one-hour episodes in the Second Season "Summer School" arc, as well as bonus content including an exclusive Gag Reel featuring the cast's finest bloopers and blunders. Also packaged with the Blu-ray are additional featurettes that go on the set and behind-the-scenes in "Thank You, Georgia: Stargirl" and "Never Alone: Heroes and Allies, which focus on the supporting players. DC's "Stargirl - The Complete Second Season" is a worthy addition to your DC TV library of action series alongside "The Flash" and "Batwoman."
