Andy Cohen Opens Up about Being a Gay Single Dad

TV personality and producer Andy Cohen says his son "makes it really easy" to be a gay single dad, Us Weekly reported.

Cohen, 53, shared his thoughts on parenthood during an interview with radio station KMOX in St. Louis, where he was touting his new book "Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes from Women I Love."

"During the pandemic I was looking for something to do, so I got this idea for this book which is inspired by all the great women in my world from my mom and my sisters, to divas I've grown up loving to the Real Housewives and beyond," Cohen – who also produces "The Real Housewives" franchise – told the station.

Moreover, the women in his life contribute to his parenting duties, Cohen said. "I have a lot of support. I have a lot of women in my life who are helping me out," he noted.

But his son, 2-year-old Benjamin, also makes the job of being a single dad "really easy," Cohen noted. "He's a cheerful, great kid."

"He makes it fun. I learn things every day," Cohen went on to add. "I think also having a kid later in life is really fun, because [while] you do sweat things, I'm trying to be as laid back as I possibly can."

Us Weekly recalled that Cohen spoke with Forbes about parenting earlier this month, and spoke to the importance of being present for his son around his work commitments.

Detailing a typical day's schedule, Cohen described how "I went to radio, did that for a couple hours. I was home in time for lunch," then "was home for the next few hours, then I ran out and now I'm home again waiting for him to take a nap."

"Then, I'll leave again about six o'clock to do what I have to do," Cohen added.

"The good thing about my schedule is I'm in and out all day."
