Did Ryan Phillippe & BFF Matt Sinn Gay Bait with Xmas IG?

Fans of Ryan Phillippe were in a frenzy yesterday when it seemed the actor came out in an Instagram post where he is resting beneath a Christmas tree with another man, his friend Matt Sinn.

"The 47-year-old actor took to his Instagram page on Saturday, December 25 to post a photo that saw him posing in front of a fireplace with Matt. In the caption, the two-time Screen Actors Guild Award winner wrote, 'Merry Christmas from our house to yours'," Ace Showbiz reported.

After causing confusion, Phillippe's friend Matt Sinn took to his Instagram Story on Sunday to clarify that Phillippe "didn't come out." In an attempt to make everything clear, Sinn reposted a snap of their girlfriends Stephanie Lauren and Bailey Dodge. "Here are the girlfriends," he wrote over the picture that saw Stephanie and Bailey copying their boyfriends' pose.

In the pic, the respective girlfriends of the two men are seen under the tree in the same pose with text: "No, Ryan Phillippe has not come out."

The initial Phillippe post led to elation, with some thinking Phillippe had come out.

But when the truth came out, the two were accused of trolling.
