Stewart, who did not receive a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination last month, join Jessica Chastain ("The Eyes of Tammy Faye"), Olivia Colman ("The Lost Daughter"), Penelope Cruz ("Parallel Mothers") and Nicole Kidman ("Being the Ricardos") in the running for the the Actress in a Leading Role category at the 94th Academy Awards.
Stewart also joins a small but growing list of about 16 out LGBTQ actors who have been nominated to receive the golden statue. On this list includes Marlon Brando, Lady Gaga, Ian McKellen, Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie and Kevin Spacey.

"I am so touched and I am so grateful for the work that was generated on this film. I'm so proud to be a part of our film community," continued Stewart about her nomination. "I am SO happy. It is a good day."
